VOLUNTEERS
Image from Seeing Red Part 2, The Big Idea, Photograph Sean Patterson, showing Viv Moore, Peter Marinker and Lizzie McPhee The Red Room provides a variety of opportunities for volunteers to gain experience through the wide range of activities that we undertake. Volunteering has provided The Red Room with invaluable assistance in all areas over the years. We wouldn’t be here today if it wasn’t for the unpaid commitment people showed to us in our first 5 years and, for the ongoing support we continue to receive. We are truly grateful and indebted to all those people who have volunteered with us, both past and present, for their hard work and time.

The Red Room recognises that volunteering is a two way process. We are committed to providing volunteers with a structured and supportive working environment where they can develop new skills and actively contribute to all aspects of the company. We can offer real experience to volunteers: whether it is in script reading, all aspects of production and event facilitation or administration in our busy office.

There is no requirement for previous experience or too great a level of knowledge. If you are interested in us then we are interested in you, whether you have just left school or college or whether you are looking for a career change or want to stay active in your years of retirement. We are happy to talk as to what you want to gain and to what we may be able to offer. The amount of work that we can offer differs throughout the year and we also take part in other placement schemes, so please don’t be put off if we can’t offer you what you are interested in instantly.

If you have a passion for theatre and new writing that lies at the cutting edge and would like to gain experience or to show support in some way, we are always happy to hear from you.
