Women’s Edition was a Platform that sought to revive the energy and optimism of the women’s movement. Presented on a Long Table it was curated by Louis Weaver artist, director, activist and Lecturer in performance at Queen Mary College University of London. The concept of the Long Table encourages an open democratic forum for discussion and debate. Invited specialists are asked to start the discussion around several key questions. The questions asked for Women’s Edition, in no particular order, were: How doe we define feminism in the Global context of Human Rights and Equalities? What is the Legacy of Feminsim? Can we have Feminist men? How do we involve young women, young people and “real” women in the debate? The night was also showcased performances/presentations by a number of brilliant artist activists including Smash Miss Contest, The Vacuum Cleaner, The Muffia and Zena Edwards.
